It’s August in McMinnville, OR, and the sun is beating down. This heat wave is relentless. But the job needs to get done. Cascade Steel needs 240’ of track removed and upgraded and they need it in four days. Four days. Not only that, 100’ of cement has got to come out and be re-poured in the process. This is a hard-enough job when everyone is in top form, but Joe has a broken wrist, and he’s in charge. This client’s the main lead for the entire mill track and they cannot push back the date, because they need to lay asphalt. Despite these obstacles, Cascade Steel still wants Schad Co. They know he and his crew can get the job done.

Tyler, Andy, Ryan, and Jarrod. Great crew. Hard workers. Those guys came through some serious adversity to pull off this track job. You see, Joe rented a tamp from a local guy who said the machine runs great. Not so much. They get the machine and it doesn’t run well at all. That doesn’t stop them, though. The crew replumbs the lines for the fueling system, clears out all the mold and debris from the lines, and gets it working. Fantastic. Under the strain of a short deadline, equipment that doesn’t want to cooperate, oppressing heat, and a hobbled boss, the crew is still able to not only complete the job on time, but early, and without taking shortcuts or having any mishaps. All this while maintaining the safety standards that Joe Schad and Schad Co. always require.
